In this book John presents his personal risky sport and commercial diving experiences and offshore Oil and Gas stories around the world from the age of 17 until the age of 55. John started as a spear fisherman and deep scuba diver in South Florida and had many dangerous and some near death experiences from 15 ft long sharks, falling off the ship Bimini Ghost and lost alone in the Gulfstream 30 miles offshore, run over by a 600 ft long Cruise Liner in Government Cut and almost lost in a 130 ft deep under water cave in Blue Springs, Florida.
John then went to work on the semi submersible SEDCO H in the North Atlantic in over 105 ft seas at times and watched the sister ship SEDCO J break apart and sink killing all 80 people on board. Helicopters bringing out crew also crashed once and John lost all his Geologist colleagues. John then became an offshore engineer in Louisiana working with commercial divers whom taught and certified him to do deep diving. Years later he nearly died while diving from poor safety procedures during severe storms and consequently quit commercial diving then made it his lifelong ambition to make the industry safer and protect lives.
He built up a 90 million dollar international company Ocean Engineering Systems by being entrepreneurial being the world leader in this field and always providing save offshore operations where no one died or was seriously injured. The book presents many of the exploits of this company in the early days. Finally the yearly treasure diving experiences by him and son Sean in the Florida Keys is presented and although finding no gold they found many anciebt artifacts and had a ball of a time.
